Progress!

I can steadily handle the mile now. At this point I’m pretty happy with my form and breathing, and either the shoe is finally losing that high arch support or my foot is toughening up, I don’t know. My proposed run now looks like this:

Ascent and descent stay the same, but I’m adding a three tenths of a mile.

The problem with this neighborhood is the lack of sidewalks on Lawrence Road, which is a distinct handicap when running at night. Also, some of the road connections make no sense. I run at night, after 9pm, and in some places it’s absolutely pitch black. Mapping my run really isn’t for bragging rights (but it’s a side benefit!); in some places, I need to memorize the ascent and descent because I simply can’t see them.

Also, mega thanks to Leesie, who has berated me when I don’t feel like running (like Monday night). I owe a lot of my progress to her. Finally, mapmyrun.com, while overrun with ads, it’s an invaluable tool. I highly recommend it.
