So, Lisa and I were discussing my rant yesterday and I felt it was important that I explicitly note the theme: He gives all dads a bad name, and he plays into the stereotype that men, given the chance to distance themselves from the responsibility of parenting, will take it in a heartbeat.
I don’t watch the show, but I know that it gets terrific ratings; it has set a number of cable ratings records for viewship. So not only does it sadden me that the emotional strain that the children will go through will be played on TV, it also infuriates me that he the stereotypical, emotionally distant father.
Problem is, Kate is no sympathetic figure. A video floated around the internet showing one of the kids begging for water and Kate blowing her off, and then a minute later opening a bottle of water and not offering her kid any. I get that she’s no saint. But at the very least, she hasn’t bailed on the kids and moved out of state, so I’ll give her a pass.
Thankfully (I guess) the show will be off the air until August. If that family had any common sense, they would’ve pulled the plug on the show before this season started, and worked through family therapy or something. Nope.

One of the games that I regretted trading on goozex was Killer 7; I finally received it for the PS2, after a year of waiting. I know I wasn’t so hot on it when I last mentioned it, but having had a year to dwell on it I realized that it’s one of those games that offers an experience that very few others game can offer.

My 360 is connected the internet! And now that it’s there, it’s… pretty… meh. I had a chance to try out live with Michael’s 360 and didn’t think much of it, but the whole experience is pretty… unexciting. It’s a very nice, unified experience, and very convenient to download demos and such, but… but. The wii was battered by so-called hardcore gamers for lacking its own version of live; now that I had a chance to try it, it’s ok?
I’m not sure what I was expecting, I suppose. I guess I find the Wii’s channels just as interesting, if not moreso.
