The lovefest continues with Stanza (iTunes link), though GTA:CW has been taking up all of my iTouch time. Most recently I’ve finished “Youth” by Isaac Asimov and “I, Robot” by Cory Doctrow.
The latter is an odd take on the original “I, Robot” which is both a homage to the original by Asimov and an angry rebuke of Ray Bradbury, who pitched a fit that Michael Moore used the title of “Fahrenheit 451″ in his documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11″. I know, right?
Anyway, it’s an interesting read if you’re into science fiction.
“Angels and Demons” is a tough slog. I know it’s popular to dump on “The da Vinci Code” since it was 1) a runaway smash hit of a book, 2) took liberties with what it presented as facts and 3) was a bit cliched and borrowed elements from such writers as Tom Clancy; that being said, I liked it. I thought I’d like A&D but it’s written with 1) product placements and 2) like it was written for a movie.
It felt like dVC wasted no effort in telling the story, but A&D has prolific adjective and superlative use. I feel like a third of the book could be chopped right out and it’d be a fantastic read. It’s probably unfair to review a book that I’m only halfway through, but that’s it in a nutshell.

I’m disappointed to hear that A&D isn’t very good. Bah.
