Woodworking

Following this post, I have to say I’m fairly proud of the present I gave to Lisa for our anniversary. And I’ve found that I have a real love for woodworking. Not the ‘ooh, this sounds fun in concept’ but the nitty gritty cutting, sanding, priming, sanding, sanding, sanding, priming, etc. I suppose it’s like knitting: it’s a very peaceful pastime. And anything that requires using a dremel gets two thumbs up from me.

Oil painting on wood is something else entirely, too. Having painted only painted on canvas until now, oil on wood is an absolute joy. By comparison, painting on canvas seems so stressful.

I think I’m going to invest a few dollars here and there in tools so that I can do similar works. I’m tempted to liquidate some of my game collection to buy a corded dremel as the battery drains rather quickly on my battery powered one.
