Clearly, this is an exciting day in the life Comprak’s Domain – after many months of putting it off, I finally managed to set-up a weblog, powered by Moveabletype. Let me assure you, my knowledge of these things are very limited, and it was quite an effort just to get the damned thing up. I don’t know where to begin in changing the layout of the blog, so for the time being this default look will have to do.
Why did I set-up this weblog if it was so hard to make in the first place?
Well, I thought the main/front page was too formal to properly rant and/or joke. If you’re a first time visitor, you get to make only one impression. I wanted a blog so that I can put up what I want to put up, without having to worry about uploading, editing and archiving files and all that rot. With this setup, all that is done for me automatically, so all I have to do is sign onto any computer in the world and type away. Exciting, right? I thought so.
So, here’s a rundown of the latest events:
I shaved my head, after a week of religious shaving it, I’m letting it grow back (In March, Lisa and I are taking engagement photos, and she wants me to have a full head of hair). Shortly after that I will probably shave it off again (who knows). Exams are coming up!
That’s roughly it. I’m looking forward to updating the site with content other than pictures (but that’s what everyone comes here for!). And thoughts. I have a number of those just laying around.
I want my website to look classier, but I’m not sure how to go about doing that. That’ll be my next project. I’ve gotten a pretty solid grasp of Dreamweaver. I’m not looking for a site overhaul, mind you – just something to make it look a little nicer. Maybe some silver here and there. If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions do feel free to pass them along my way.
Finally, the last thing I plan to do is make a separate index file so that you can simply visit the blog upon entering, rather than go from thoughts –> blog, and have all that downtime in between (if you’re one of those regular modem types).
Phew! Now that’s done. I’m going to take a nap (I think). Leave comments. The site has been up for seven months (barely) and I have over 20,000 hits. Say something, why don’t you?
An addendum! I changed the style of the Blog to Georgia Blue. I think it fits the site well enough, as well as adding something to ‘Neon Flash’.
